Target 70s Style

Day three in St. Thomas: showing off our 70s vibes ✌🏼️. Before my trip I did some online shopping at Target and hit the jackpot. Target’s “New and Trendy 70s Style” was perfect for the warmer weather. The first fringe top shown can double as a beach/ pool cover-up. Here is a similar pull over to the flower flow top (shown) that I also purchased. I love the last sweater of this post too. The fringe on the sides adds a cute detail. All of the shoes worn in this post are also from Target! (The jean shorts are American Eagle) Shop the 70s Style…here!! (Oh plus sunglasses!) ✌🏼️out and enjoy!

OOTD: St. Thomas

Outfit details: Romper. Sweater. Shoes

We have arrived in the US Virgin Islands Saint Thomas! It is absolutely beautiful here… It will be hard to leave in five days. The weather is gorgeous for this Sunday: 84 and sunny. I had to take advantage of the heat now before I returned to NC so I decided to wear my new romper from American Eagle. It’s super cute and comfy. I wear it for casual occasions but could be dressed up with some wedges. I also love my new sweater from AE. It was such a good purchase because it goes with so many different outfits. My shoes and shades were last minute purchases from Target before the trip. The shoes are great! They were super cheap but look a lot like the Michael Kors version. I’m so excited to be posting again, especially in such a stunning location! Look out for future posts!

From Summer to Fall

Fall is right around the corner but the summer season isn’t over yet. This time of year makes fashion choices…complicated. So here is one outfit that’s a good example of how to transition into fall fashion. I’m wearing an American Eagle dress {that I wore a ton this summer by itself} with a sweater, to make the outfit more fall~ish. Also instead of summer sandals I chose to wear nude booties. My advice for the best transition is just add a light sweater to your outfit…that way you have a good mix of both seasons.

I had so much fun shooting with my best friend for the blog today! The weather was perfect to show off our cute yet casual styles. Sometimes I think wearing a skirt, dress or romper is only for a fancy occasion but it can really be everyday attire. For my outfit I chose a J Crew skirt with a graphic tee to dress it down. To be even more casual I could’ve worn flats or sandals. Sophie wore an Urban  Outfitters romper {which that store has so many cute ones!} over a while lace bralette. The halter bralette is a perfect “accessory” to add to the outfit. You can basically wear a bralette under anything.. And your outfit becomes 10 times cuter!

So don’t be afraid to dress down your dress up…it’s cute and casual!

Beach Bums

Excited to be back and blogging! School is out so it’s officially summer. What better way to celebrate than a girl’s week at the beach?

It’s our 3rd annual girls trip to Wrightsville Beach and our friends brought some cute goodies from Poppies. {located in Birkdale}

How cute are the cup holders! Poppies Gifts sells adorable accessories that you can have monogrammed! (I’ve monogrammed pillows and bags from there before) The cup holders and towels were a big hit for our first day at the beach…and so convenient! {thank you, Cusicks!!}

The girls and I also had some fun with Flash Tattoos

   They are really easy to apply and last a couple of days.

Happy summer everyone!

My Trip to Maui

Happy Spring Break! I was lucky enough to spend my spring break on the island of Maui in Hawaii! It was absolutely beautiful, I’ve never seen a place quite like it. I got to do a ton of cool excursions like snorkel, whale watch, luau, and helicopter ride. I wanted to share with you all some of my pictures, and outfits from the trip…enjoy!

Here’s a tip: when traveling far away by plane always be prepared…for anything. On my carry on I had entertainment like a book, my iPod and earbuds but I also packed a bathing suit and cover up just in case my luggage was lost. That way I could still enjoy myself in paradise. Before my family and I left we got these cute bag tags to identify our luggage.

Basically the whole trip I was in my bathing suit. {triangl} So it was important to find a good cover up in case I wanted to grab lunch or go out somewhere. I found these super comfy and adorable Lilly Pulitzer pants that worked great to just lounge around in.

    Edit Another necessity for any beach vacation, I decided, was a sun dress. I wore my dress to a couple of places we went out to. I recommend to add a casual sun dress to any beach trip packing list! (Don’t forget sunglasses, those are essential!!)

Sun Dress: TJ Maxx

Sun Glasses: Claire’s

My family and I stayed at the Four Seasons at Waliea. It was so nice! The service was amazing, out by the pool people would come around with little snacks, cold towels, and sunscreen. I was in paradise and never wanted to leave!

Hope everyone had a awesome spring break…or are about to!!

Hot Cocoa Bar

It’s snowing again in NC! I can’t believe it! This time, rather than seeing sheets of ice out of my window, I woke up to a winter wonderland. I had to take advantage of my day off school and what’s better than hot chocolate on a cold snowy day?! {and also donuts, of course}

If it’s snowing where you live, curl up by the fire and treat yourself… Check it out!

Enjoy your snow day!
